M. Optom under POKHARA UNIVERSITY



·         Bachelor of Optometry (B. Optom.) degree or Bachelor of Optometry and Vision Science (B. Optom.) or Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) or B.Sc. in Optometry (B.Sc. Optom.) or equivalent from a recognized university/institution.
·         Obtained a minimum CGPA of 2.5/4 or 55 % in bachelor level.
·          Registered to Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC)-in A level.


Documents to be submitted
  • Completely filled and duly signed application form.
  • Three copies of recent passport size photographs.
  • Self-attested copies of academic documents (mark sheet/transcript, character certificate) of SLC and above, along with migration certificate, Respective council certificate and citizenship certificate.
  • Candidates who fail to submit all the documents by the deadline will not be allowed to attend entrance examination.
  • Applicant must bring the original copies of academic documents while submitting the application form for verification.

Application and examination fee
  • Applicant should pay NRs. 100 (nonrefundable) for application form and NRs. 3000 (nonrefundable) as an entrance examination fee (Total: NRs 3100) while submitting the application form.
  • Above mentioned amount should be deposited in the given bank accounts of FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES (PU)
  • For Scholarship: only Rs 1000 (non-refundable) 

Entry Requirements:

55% in bachelor of optometry or equivalent from recognized university

NHPC registered

Scholarship (each one for TIO and HEI; total=2 seats)

Should have passed SLC/SEE from government or community school (certified document needed)

The gap should not be more than 3 years (should apply with in 3 years of passing bachelors)

Advantage if Janajati or local

Should go to Pokhara University office for document submission and entrance exams

Paying (6 for TIO and 4 for HEI; total= 10)

Exams in respective hospitals (TIO or HEI at your choice)

Where can we get the application form?
Of course you can get it in the official website of Pokhara university http://www.pu.edu.np
You can download to print it and fill it up to submit in
·         TIO or HEI if you want to study in paying quota
·         Pokhara University office at Lekhnath-30 if you want to study in scholarship (free)
Or, you can go TIO or HEI to get the forms to be filled and submitted accordingly.


More:
Exams for paying quota will be conducted in respective hospitals (TIO or HEI) at your choice, but for scholarship scheme you must go to the Pokhara University central office at Lekhnath-6, Dhungepatan. If scholarship exam takes place today then paying exams will take place the next day. You can take exams anywhere TIO or HEI if you want to study in paying. You will have a privilege to choose where to study according to your merits in entrance exams.
