The Frightened

More and more tourists are being frightened these days just looking at the headlines of National papers. While Nepal is all set to celebrate 2020 AD as a tourism year, the news of a couple air accidents in a window of a month and various bridge collapses are seriously backslashing the tourism campaign.

In the year eve to 2010, every news that might impact to the safety of a tourist is countable. A foreigner never plans his/her trip just in ad hoc.   They study the country’s overall situation over months. They analyze the news that may compromise or affect their travel. Most often, they are pretty concerned about air travel safety and securities. In a month of a VVIP helicopter crash, Nepal witnessed another plane crash in Lukla leaving 3 people dead. This is a serious thing to ponder over and I bet a majority of the sensible tourists will eventually decline the air travel.

Come to the road and there are hazards too.  People are less worried about the natural calamities as they travel because it’s very rare and it’s not under human control. But when we see frequent news of bridge collapses then again one might be discouraged to travel via road. The bridges here collapse during or shortly after the construction that is not inevitable. They are human-induced accidents which otherwise could have been avoided. Only the faulty mechanism and corrupted system can let these things perpetuate thereby risking the public’s life, every time.

These things are not forgivable. Anybody would divert their trip to somewhere else than Nepal where neither roadway nor airway is deemed safe.
