We are talking about what is hot in town. The social media has been sensationalized recently with a video clip about Miss Nepal Auditions for 2019. Let’s summarize the video context. Judge Rachana Gurung Sharma, who also happens to be the choreographer, just blatantly speaks out to the 22-year old participant Miss Ashmita Maharjan in so derogatory way that it is shocking. Here is the conversation of the two in 1:24 long video clip:--
Participant: I am pursuing my bachelor’s degree in computer engineering right now. I am in 7th Semester
Judge: Why aren’t you wearing make-up?
Participant: Because, honestly, I don’t know how to do make-ups.
Judge: And you are ready to join? Miss Nepal beauty pageant.
Participant: I will learn.
Judge: You will learn? You know what? This is the 21st Century and the world is in your arm. We, at least, expect you to wear make-up and come. THIS IS DISRESPECT....ing us.(in a boastful manner!)
Participant: I am wearing what is comfortable with, right now.
Judge: Seriously?
Participant: A bit of mascara and …
Judge: No. And what’s your power?
Participant: -5
Judge: -5. Do you wear contact lens?
Participant: yeah, I do.
Judge: why aren’t you wearing it Today?
Participant: Because I had to come through the bike. So, pollution le garda kehi hunchha ki bhanera.
Judge: can you put your hear back?
(participant put her hair back)
Judge: chasma ekchhin nikalnu
(participant complies)
Judge: can you show me your teeth
(participant shows her teeth)
Judge: You Look to the left.
(participant tries to stand up)
Make Judge: Just turn around
(Asmita looks left and then right)
Judge: Okay! You can see us now.
(Ashmita puts her glasses back on)
To audience's surprise the judge seemingly orders the participant to take off her glasses and intimate that she wear contact lenses instead of the glasses.
