27th February 2019. The tragic black day when we witnessed a helicopter crash in Taplejung. I was very saddened to hear the news of a future PM (at least I can believe) of our nation dying in a crash. Many Nepali youths experienced a similar feeling. Besides, I bore a different attachment with him because we share a common name.
I felt like remembering him in a special way. So, I decided to write an article about him. Later, I thought it is a common thing to do; so many people might be doing the same thing. So, my plan shifted to write a poem expressing the condolence. Again I thought the poem should emanate special taste while a reader reads it. So, it was written imagining the situation of his wife’s bereavement. Later I made a video and uploaded it in my YouTube channel. The voice in the video was given by my wife Sapana Koirala.

Watch the video, if you hadn't yet:
In one day the video gave a good sign of catching the audience. It was copied by samacharpati.com, and they cleverly modified parts of video clips so that I cannot claim the copyright. It too started to race. Around dozens of other channels did the same. So, in a two-day window, my video was playing over a dozen YouTube channel. It was sensationalized on Facebook too. And in texts, many online sites claimed it was written by Bidya Bhattarai.
Even though the viewers are dispersed and divided, the original video kept on growing. After all, YouTube algorithm does justice to everybody. For the first time ever, my video was trending. It was making good progress and at 2PM of the 2nd March, the video hit the #10 on trending.
The disclaimer I used on the description is as follows:
Disclaimer: Truth be told, this poetry is not originally written by Bidya Bhattarai Adhikari. This was written by myself (the other Rabindra Adhikari) and was recited by my wife Sapana Koirala (Adhikari). I just tried my best to remember Mr. Adhikari who exactly shares my name (We share a common name) and I scribbled a few verses as the condolence. There could not have been anything more substantial than a poem to reminisce such a legendary Nepali politician. I wrote the poem putting myself in his wife's shoes. As this is the very unbearable circumstance for a family who lost a member, I want to express my deep condolences to the friends, family and all who are affected by this sorrowful news. There are many video channels, Facebook pages, and online sites, who are simply copying my content and putting it into their videos and pages, unbeknownst of me and without giving credits to my literary creation. And they are doing it for monetary gain. I, hereof, bear no responsibilities if they have modified it in a way without fully informing the audience that the writer is not Bidya Bhattarai but someone else. PS: this video is not monetized. Mr. Adhikari dies of Helicopter Crash on 27 February in Taplejung at the age of 49. The cause of Air Dynasty chopper crash has been attributed to bad weather conditions.
